We are a thrift shop created in 1996 by Midlothian Friends (Quakers) to raise money selling donated items to help support the non-profit work of various, mostly local, community selected charities.
Welcome to thrifty quaker
The Midlothian Friends Meeting (Quakers) wanted to reach out into our community to provide assistance to organizations that offer needed service to others.
So in 1996, this Quaker community created the Thrifty Quaker to raise funds through recycling items donated to the shop. Since our beginnings in 1996, we have donated thousands in dollars and goods to organizations all over the world. Compassion and love in action! You can help! Shop, donate, volunteer. Quakers worship in a simple manner. Worshippers seek "that of God" within themselves and each other in a backdrop of silent meditation and prayer. Any one can speak and share as they are moved to do so.

Meditation Garden
The Meditation Garden on the meeting house grounds is conducive to the prayerful and meditative nature of Quaker Worship.
